Preschool

OUR MISSION

The mission of Saint John Neumann Preschool is to provide a safe, positive, and happy Christian environment, in order to provide each child's cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. We provide opportunities to establish relationships with children their own age and to find satisfaction in learning experiences and creative activities.

OUR CURRICULUM

We provide a wide variety of experiences in math, language, emergent literacy, art, science exploration, plus music and movement. We have a center-based developmentally appropriate program in which exciting themes are provided. Our curriculum focuses on choice, creativity, and challenge through hands on activities.

RELIGION

At SJN Preschool we believe that God and the child have a unique relationship with each other. We follow the religious teachings of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This program is based on the Scriptures and the Church Liturgy.  The children have their own special room, called the Atrium, where they meet each week for a presentation by the catechist. Each child will have time to deepen their experience with "self teaching" materials throughout the room, following the principles of Maria Montessori.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe that all children are unique and special individuals that develop in their own time and pace. Our program is designed to provide experiences that will focus on the whole child with developmentally appropriate activities. Along with providing for school readiness, our program will provide opportunities to encourage life long learning, problem solving, decision making, and motivate each child to reach his/her potential.

Adult Evening Bible Study

The Adult evening Bible study meets on Monday nights, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in room 103 from September through April.  Our mission is to help participants develop and experience a living faith in their daily lives based on the teaching of the Catholic Church.  This is obtained with home study questions, group discussion, fellowship, and video presentation on that week's study.  This study is open to all men and women. We will be studying the book of Genesis. Contact Ann Hayes at 770-982-8564 (home); annhayes52@comcast.net
