ImageSharing Their Gifts of Time and Talent

Lisa Gordon
Parishioner Since 2001

How do you share your time and talents?
Guitar and Cantor in the Music Ministry * Core team * Lecturer for Women’s Catholic Bible Study * Advanced Catechist Certification * Liturgy Commission

What got you started?

Music has always spoken to my heart.  Started cantoring and playing for school masses at age 12 (7th grade ~ for 30 years!)   At WCBS , I had a major conversion experience and felt profound forgiveness Can’t get enough of God’s word.  Liturgy ~ always have loved and appreciated how scripture and Mass weave together.

Why do you continue?
The more I uncover the knowledge of God’s great mysteries, the more I fall in love with Him and the Liturgy.  The richness of the symbolism and tradition goes so deep that I will spend my life in wonder as it is revealed through my studies.

~ Favorite Moment ~
Singing with my entire family (including my new son-in-law) at midnight Mass last Christmas, and every time my musical children sing praise and give their gift back to the Giver of All Gifts.

~ Quote ~
From me: “All that is asked of us is to share our gifts with our parish family of God, if I can give service in joy in any way—count me in!!”

From another person: “Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine flows the food and laughter and good red wine, at least I’ve always found it so!  Benedecamus Domino!”
