Middle School

Sunday nights, 6:30-8:00pm in Donnellan Hall

Wednesday nights, WEDGE, 7-8:15 p.m. in room 7, under the church. Come dig deeper into our Catholic faith through scripture.

The Edge, a program for middle school 6, 7, 8, is an exciting new approach to middle school catechesis. The Edge is a Catholic centered youth ministry program aimed at middle schoolers and is designed to meet their educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs. As part of the Church's mission to evangelize and spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ, middle schoolers are encouraged to go out and bring their friends to The EDGE.

The large group youth ministry atmosphere of The EDGE creates an environment where the youth are part of a large faith community. Their communal, spiritual, social and psychological needs are met, along with catechesis and educating our middle school youth in the Catholic faith.

The EDGE is offered on most Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm, during the school year and meets in Donnellan Hall. We do offer pizza from 6:00-6:30pm at a cost of $1 per slice.

Many "adults" are needed to minister to these youths. Those who minister to middle schoolers are in the seed planting business. These core members can profoundly impact a middle school youths spiritual and emotional development. This can leave a lasting and positive impression on the youth into adulthood.

Sacrament Preparation for those middle schoolers needing First Penance and First Communion will begin on Wednesday, September 15th, 6:30-8:00pm in room 7. Bring your original baptismal certificate if you have not turned it in as yet!

All middle schoolers are welcome to join us September 17th: we are going to the Dawg Maze, Corn Maze, in Walnut Grove. Join us for this fun event! Permission forms will be on the EDGE bulletin board (across from the Religious Education Office by September 1st. Parent drivers will be needed! thanks!

The Sound of Music

EDGE is looking for musicians, cantors, and people who want to share their musical talents with EDGE. Our EDGE group begins each of our EDGE sessions at 6:40 pm and introduces our night at 7:00 pm. Beginning October 7th, our EDGE group will be serving during the 5:30 pm Mass the first Wednesday of each month. We’d love to have this ministry grow.

We need parents of middle school youngsters, adult and high school teens in their junior or senior year to minister to our youth on Wednesday nights beginning in August.
