Sunday night are our catechetical nights! The first Wednesday of each month is our WEDGE night. These nights will be devoted to "issues" that affect our middle schoolers and their families! The 3rd Wednesday of the month is devoted to preparing those middle schoolers who need to make First Penance and First Communion. EDGE meets in the quad (lower level of the church building) from 6:30-8:00pm. We also hold social events monthly! Check the EDGE calendar for dates and events!
The Edge, on Sunday evenings, is an exciting new approach to middle school catechesis. The Edge is a Catholic centered youth ministry program aimed at middle schoolers and is designed to meet their educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs. As part of the Church's mission to evangelize and spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ, middle schoolers are encouraged to go out and bring their friends to The EDGE.
The large group youth ministry atmosphere of The EDGE creates an environment where the youth are part of a large faith community. Their communal, spiritual, social and psychological needs are met, along with catechesis and educating our middle school youth in the Catholic faith.
The EDGE is offered on most Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm, during the school year and meets in the lower level of the church building. We do offer pizza from 6:00-6:30pm at a cost of $1.50 per slice.
Many "adults" are needed to minister to these youths. Those who minister to middle schoolers are in the seed planting business. These core members can profoundly impact a middle school youths spiritual and emotional development. This can leave a lasting and positive impression on the youth into adulthood.
