Construction Has Started!
Five New Facilities Atop Mount Zion
The road to the new site is nearly complete; Brother Jesu (photo
below) is standing atop a newly installed culvert where
the new road will cross one of two creeks leading to the site. The
road will remain unpaved until most of the work for the five
new buildings is complete. The new location will include
a 200 person chapel, a two story mission for thirty brothers,
and three buildings for visitors to meet and lodge while on retreats
to Jamaica. The site will also include a large cross facing
Kingston and the ocean. After these five buildings are
compete, the brothers will start construction of additional facilities
that will house boys and AID’s patients that the brothers
care for.

What can you do to help?
The construction for the road to the site has been fully funded
by a fellow Atlanta MOP supporter. Once the site is fully
accessible, the Brothers can start the construction of the facilities. I
have been asked to raise funds for a tractor that is desperately
needed to help reduce the overall cost for the remaining construction. Currently
the brothers must rent equipment for digging footers for the
facilities, to complete the grooming of the road and retaining
walls needed on the side of the road, and many other construction
tasks as well as the need for a tractor for the future agricultural
plans for the site. The Brothers have a tractor selected
(with front end loader and backhoe) and have received some funding,
but are in need of more funding so they can purchase the tractor.
Any amount you can give will go to the purchase of the tractor
or additional equipment needed for construction.
As all of you know, the brothers are hard working and do most
all construction themselves. They have given so much to
the poor in Jamaica, and the work they do is out of the love
for Jesus Christ. Please see it in your hearts to give
what you can, so the brothers’ work can be completed a
little easier and a little faster. Your contribution is
tax deductible and will be greatly appreciated.
Please send checks made out to MOP to the address
below. In the “for” or “note” section
of your check please write “Tractor”.
