Family FAITH Letter to Parish
Thursday, 10 April 2008
Dear St. John Neumann Parishioners:

The vision of Family FAITH (Faith Alive In The Home) at St. John Neumann is to support parents in the continuing faith formation of their children while promoting life-long on-going faith development for everyone. Our goal is to discern and implement what is best for our children and families within the context of our parish’s resources and space. Family FAITH encompasses families with children Pre-K through 5th grade in our Parish School of Religion (PSR) and Family Formation Home Program; along with our First Communion family-centered preparation process.

The Family FAITH staff has been faithfully seeking God’s direction as they plan for the 2008/2009 school year. Wednesday night PSR is an extremely popular session and is now overcrowded. This year 270+ families are enrolled in our First Communion program and 900 children and youth are enrolled in PSR and EDGE. With our growth, the staff remains committed to a family- and child-centered catechetical process. We integrated our English and Hispanic sacramental process into one family-centered program, started the Family Formation Home Program, and once again offered Vacation Bible School.

Next year, we will implement some changes to enhance our programs as we continue to value excellence in Family FAITH.  As we looked back on the richness of some of our past programs while looking forward creatively into our present, it was decided to move all classes off of Sundays in order to better support family time and encourage every SJN family to celebrate Mass together. Sundays will center the entire community on the Sunday Liturgy, while enabling more opportunities for family and community gatherings.

Enroll your child/children to receive these sacraments by filling out a yellow sacramental form.

Please Note
