Love One Another

ImagePastor's Corner
Our Lord Jesus Christ urged his followers to abide to the principle of love without exception or  restriction. If we want to be Christ’s real disciples we cannot close our hearts to anybody. We have to abandon any prejudice, negative judgment or preconceived idea.

This concept of Christian love that we have includes our Protestant sisters and brothers in a very special way. They are people of faith as we are and have our same dreams of salvation and redemption. They hold Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior as we do and try to follow the precept of  Christian love as well. They consider the Bible as the word of God as we do.

We have to consider them as part of our Christian family. In every family, even within very loving families, there are differences between the members, as there are some differences between our Protestant sisters and brothers and us, but all of us are the Christian family of God. We have to abandon any prejudice and negative judgment.

Particularly for us Catholics in this area of the world there is an additional reason to love and respect our Protestant sisters and brothers. We are late comers to this place and they have been here for a long time, holding on to and proclaiming the Christian faith. We have to be grateful to them for having accepted us in Gwinnett County. We just about invaded their land.

We should respect and admire the beautiful church and educational buildings that these brothers and sisters of ours have erected---very visible signs of their faith and of their generosity toward God. Church buildings, Protestant and Catholic alike, are all houses of God and we should respect them as such. The best thing to be proud of is the love that we have in our hearts.

The Ministry of the Word is vital to the life of the Church, since we are proclaiming the living word of God! It continues to be alive as we bring the good news with our own deep faith and confident voice! Come join us in this wonderful ministry and become a Lector. Watch for future announcements for training workshops. If interested, please contact Mike Rybak (770) 979-7493.
