As I have mentioned in previous columns, the deacons and lay-leadership of SJN considered this change with the utmost seriousness. We are aware that those of you attending those Masses that will be eliminated in this new schedule (the Masses of 8:00 am, 12:30 pm and 7:00 pm) will be discovering new times to worship. Please know that the deacons and lay-leadership and I have worked together, to consider every issue involved in the weekend schedule of liturgies, and have come to see this new schedule as the best schedule for the parish.

After a year of living in the new church with the new Mass schedule, we will have a better sense of things; and as we should, all will be re-evaluated once we have settled into the new space and the new schedule. Let us seek to be patient with one another in this time of transition. Please know that I have made these changes in our schedule, hoping for the best for our parish family… for the spiritual renewal we are invited to seek… as fruitful branches connected to the Vine of Life (John 15.5).
