Some Help Up There

Most of you see the ministry of the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion each weekend, at the Vigil Mass and the Masses on Sunday. After a training session (either here at the parish or at another location), the Archbishop grants women and men permission to assist the ordinary ministers of Holy Communion (deacons and priests) in the blessing of Eucharist. Craig Moore is the coordinator and trainer for our EM's ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , 770-985-1687).

But along with this fine service at liturgy, Craig has another set of EM's that are privileged to do home and hospital visitation, bringing the Word of God and SJN fellowship and most importantly, the holy Eucharist to those unable to attend Mass with us. Craig tells me that we could offer a better outreach for our shut-ins if we had a few more trained EM's. So, please think about this joyful ministry and ask the Lord if you might be an instrument of his peace... in this service. Contact Craig and chat with him about this special way to serve Lord and neighbor.

And speaking of liturgical ministries: the beautiful music made by our choirs. I know for a fact, that there are lots of "voices" out there... women and men that could enhance the choirs of SJN. Why not contact Mary Lou or Thomas or Greg or Luz? Give me a call or an e-mail, and I'll forward your desire to sing to the appropriate coordinator. And what about proclamation? Why not contact Lynn Fonseca and find out when the next training for Lectors might be. And what about Altar Servers? The servers will tell you that I mess up all the time. I need some help up there!

We're a month away from the Dedication Mass: the 3rd 24th of June, at 7:00 pm. Are you planning to attend? This is one event that will not be repeated! Let's fill the new church and the plaza and bless the work of God and this great parish.

Some of my priest friends will be with SJN this weekend, while I'm away at Toni's Camp. Please give them a SJN welcome... and thank you.
