Feed Haiti!

"I was hungry and you gave me food.
I was thirsty and you gave me drink."
Matthew 25:35

We have a wonderful opportunity to feed our brothers and sisters in Haiti! Food for the Poor has agreed to ship containers of food to Haiti at no cost as soon as we can fill them! Fr. Ho Lung of the Missionaries of the Poor has said that their centers for the homeless and destitute in Cap Haitien are overflowing with people fleeing
Port-au-Prince. As global focus on the earthquake recedes, the poor remain with us and are in desperate need. Won't you please feed them?

  • At this time, we've been asked to supply only canned meat, canned fish, canned (or boxed) non-refrigerated milk, and bottled water.
  • The items must be collected in cases.
  • The cases need to contain cans/cartons/bottles that are individual size so they can be handed out easily.
  • It is preferable that the containers can be opened by hand (without a can opener), but this is not essential.

Publix and Krogers Special Arrangements

We have coordinated special arrangements with the Publix at the corner of Five Forks and Tom Smith, as well as with the Krogers at the corner of Five Forks and Oak Rd. Appropriate cases of meat, fish, milk and water are available for the St. John Neumann food drive. Simply ask for them at Customer Service. The cases range in price from about $5 to $25.

Cases of food are also available at other stores, such as Sam's and Costco, where you can simply buy them off the shelf. But please be sure they meet the above criteria.
