Next Saturday evening, the 22nd of August, please join me at 6 PM for our next Table of Fellowship Pot Luck Supper. About every four months, we hold a Table of Fellowship gathering. We come together in the school's Donnellan Hall, at 6 PM or thereafter. Each individual disciple attending... and... each family of disciples attending, is to bring something to share. We combine all of our foods and watch the blessing of a multiplication of loaves! There is a break-down on what type of food you should bring in this week's bulletin. Many bring an entree, some bring salads or vegetables, and others bring desserts or drinks.
Being a zealous and faithful Roman Catholic is all about our discipleship, our following of the new Way of Life, seen in and through the Lord Jesus; and, this discipleship is not only about the love of God, and our obedience to the plan of God Alone. Discipleship... following the Lord Jesus... means living according to His command: to love God and to love neighbor. According to the Lord, one cannot exist without the other!

Our quarterly Table of Fellowship is one way you can put your love of God into real-world practice. Join me on next Saturday evening, from 6 to 8 PM. Bring a dish to share. Bring two, if you are able. Enjoy the great feast of foods. Enjoy the great feast of fellowship, as you sit next to a parishioner, and learn from him or her... that we are one family in the Lord. We are called to be joyfully, happily holy, not in isolation, but together, as the people of God. Pease join me next Saturday evening, with a covered dish and a heart open to your neighbor... the brothers and sisters that Baptism has given you.

Along with this real-world experience of fellowship, we are called by the Lord to grow in wisdom day-by-day. There was a time when Roman Catholics thought "religious education" was completed after the Sacrament of Confirmation. We now know that ongoing formation is the way for every adult disciple of the Lord Jesus; and this fall, we have so much to offer.
We have the study of sacred scripture, reading through the Book of Genesis, beginning in the second week of September. We have an adult group that will meet on Monday evenings led by Ann Hayes(

), a woman's group that will meet as the WCBS, on Wednesdays at 10 AM, led by Judy Butterick (

). The study of the Book of Genesis will allow you to "connect the dots" between the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the person of Jesus, the Son of David, for the Lord Jesus cannot be separated from his own self.
And, in addition to this study of sacred scripture, we will offer three different courses on Thursday nights. Deacon Greg will offer an Apologetics course; and I will offer two courses, dedicated to the ongoing formation of all adults and one specifically aimed at parents of school-age children. These three courses also begin in the second week of September. Please contact Deacon Greg (

I ask everyone to come up with a dish to share, then get yourself (and family) over to Donnellan Hall next Saturday evening (the 22nd), for as night of shared food and shared fellowship and hopefully, shared hearts. We will begin at 6 PM. Come and enjoy!
