As most of you know by now, our parish family has a new offering, in the middle of the work week. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we are offering the Sacrament of Penance & Reconciliation, from 4:30 to 5:15 PM, and the joy of holy Mass, from 5:30 to about 6:15 PM. Why not look at your work and commute schedule, and try to come and see what the Lord wants to offer you?

Our schools are starting up earlier and earlier. When did this happen? Why did this happen? No one in their right mind calls August in Georgia "the fall". Anyway, our children, middle schoolers and teens are about to crank up another school year. The programs that SJN will offer your children (our children) are also gearing up. Have you registered your children for PSR, the EDGE and Life Teen programs? Please call our staff in the Religious Education office, and make sure that your children, middle schoolers and teens will have the chance for catechesis and ongoing formation in the Way of the Lord Jesus and his
Church.

Those of us that have completed "schooling" will also have a chance at ongoing formation this fall. On Thursday evenings, the parish will have several opportunities to learn more about the Way of life we are invited to follow. Beginning in September, there will be two class periods dedicated to adult ongoing formation: a class dedicated to parents of school age children (6:30 to 7:30 PM, in Lind hall) and a class for all adults interested in growing closer to the Lord (7:30 to 9 PM). Please watch for more information about these new offerings.

In regarding our need for continued formation, we don't need to wait for the fall for a Thursday offering. Each Thursday, we hold periods of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, at 7 PM for English speaking parishioners and at 8:15 PM for Spanish speaking parishioners. There is considerable irony in these two offerings: the language of the Holy Spirit is a living silence, and Adoration is all about that living silence... in prayer... before the mystery of Eucharist.
For those of you that will join me on the Thursdays of the upcoming school year in the next book club offering, please go ahead and purchase our book: Ralph Martin's The Fulfillment of All Desire: A Guidebook for the Journey to God based on the Wisdom of the Saints. Along with this book club offering, Deacon Greg Ollick will offer a series of presentations on Apologetics. Please make plans to be with us each Thursday night, for a class (starting at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM) and for an hour of prayer, in Adoration (7 to 8:15 PM in English and 8:15 to 9 PM, in Spanish).

This weekend, we will say good-by to our friend Mario Jacobo. Mario has been with us for two months, on his summer assignment. He will return to seminary in the next few weeks. Mario has been a blessing to us; and on behalf of all, I want to thank our brother Mario, for all that he has offered us. Please keep him in your prayers.
