In our desire to grow in the love of the Lord and in fellowship with one another, I hope and pray that you will take a look at the expanded offerings of liturgies being offered (to begin on the 1st of June), and try to arrange your schedule with the SJN family and the Lord Jesus in mind.
We will continue our early "commuter" Mass, celebrated at 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
We will change the time of the other week day morning Mass, from 9:15 AM to 8:30 AM, Monday through Saturday. This change begins on the 1st of June.
We will offer additional weekday Masses in the early evening at 5:30 PM, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
And additionally, we will offer extended periods for the Sacrament of Penance & Reconciliation (Confessions). We will celebrate this Sacrament of the Lord every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 4:30 PM to about 5:15 PM. Our Saturday offering will be from 7:30 to 8:15 AM and again in the afternoon, from 3 to 4:30 PM. You may always call either Father Armando or me, to schedule a time for the celebration of the Sacrament.

Along with this expanded opportunity for communal prayer and the encounter with the Risen Lord in the gift of His Sacraments (the gift of his presence as Immanuel…God-with-us), I urge you to employ the great spiritual disciplines of personal prayer, the bodily prayer of fasting, and the works of mercy. Though we hear about these spiritual disciplines most often during holy Lent, these three instruments of holiness are available to us always. As individual disciples of the Way, as members of our families (those domestic churches that are our families) and in the parish family of SJN, let us seek the Lord!
At most of our Masses this weekend, Bob and Deborah Wannemacher will speak to us about the power and beauty seen in the spirituality of stewardship. This couple co-chair our Stewardship Council, and want to pass on to each of you what they have come to know, that giving back to the Giver of the gifts, through an offering of our time, our talents, and a portion of our treasure…brings about a joy of the heart…spiritual renewal. They might mention specifically SJN's part in our Archbishop's Annual Appeal. The family of SJN is called to do our part, in assisting Archbishop Wilton Daniel Gregory with the costs spent in the blessing of his Episcopal ministry. Please think about what my friends Deborah and Bob have to say!
As I wrote to you a few weeks ago, the parish's weekly offertory is down, significantly. As a parish, we have to find a way to increase the sacrificial giving of our parish, week by week, to pay for the ordinary expenses of the parish (utilities, staff salaries, supplies). For those of you that are regular contributors to the offertory and to the BLF campaign, please know that I (we) rejoice in your generosity.
For those of you that are facing your own personal financial crisis with the loss of a job or the loss of hours on the job, please know that a group of our parishioners have organized a new ministry to try and assist in these difficult times. Keep your eyes open to what might be publicized in the bulletin or on our web-site, about a "jobs ministry".
For those of you that do not give an offering on a regular basis, please know that we need you to begin to assist us, in paying for all that is offered here. As I wrote in April, 752 families have given nothing in offertory, in the last six months. There is no judgment here. I am writing, asking for your help.
Construction is moving along at full pitch. The redemption of our pledges to pay for this construction is excellent. Our liturgies are joyful and inviting. SO MUCH good is being offered to each of us. Let us give thanks!
