At the great solemnity of the Nativity, the Catholic Church celebrates Christ's Mass for eight days. In the octave of the Nativity, we celebrate Christmas for eight days, remembering His birth, in the flesh and blood we share. Saying "Merry Christmas" for eight days is one of the joys of being Catholic!
In the same way, the world-wide Catholic Church celebrates the victory of Easter for eight days. And on this octave day, this last day of the celebration, we rejoice in the Divine Mercy of the Lord. By his wounds we have been healed (1 Peter 2.24). Let us ask our Father in heaven, to shower us with his mercy.

Please mark your calendars: NEXT Saturday evening (6 to 8 PM), the 25th of April... we will hold another Table of Fellowship pot-luck supper. If you are planning to attend the Vigil that evening, a team of workers will be in Donnellan Hall to take your prepared dish before Mass. Otherwise, please plan to join the parish family for a shared meal, starting at 6 PM and winding down by 8 PM. Please read in the bulletin what you are being asked to bring. Bring an extra dish if you can. But... come... and enjoy the fruit of that mercy, in the loving embrace of a parish community.

I am writing this short Easter column on the 31st of March. I am looking out my window at about 4:30 PM, and there is not much activity going on in the parking lot. But by this time, that situation should have changed! By all accounts, we are in the beginning moments of the year of holy chaos (the year of construction). Let me mention the basics as to parking.
For the Saturday Vigil Mass and the Masses of Sunday (and special Solemnities): all the parking lots may be used... the back lot (behind the school), the lower lot and the upper lot (in front of the school)
During the days that school is in session (from 7 AM to 6 PM), it depends on the nature of your visit:
- If you are visiting the church for a brief period, or if you have an appointment with parish or school staff, or if you are attending a funeral, you may use the upper parking lot. If that lot is full, you will need to find a place in the lower lot, conscious of the school "dismissal" lanes for the afternoon dismissal
- If you are working for a time in the school or parish, please try and park in the lower lot
During the evenings: all the lots should be available for parking
FYI: With construction and with the opening of our new two-story structure, the staffs of the school and parish have changed the way we will use the parking lots. During the work week, every school employee will park in a numbered space (some in the upper lot, most in the lower lot, nearest the creek). Most every employee of the parish will park in the lower lot. Four spaces have been reserved for parish staff members in the upper lot: two for those staff working late at night and two for clergy.
