A Trinity of Events

Please, take this bulletin home and make sure to mark your calendars (and electronic devices) for these three dates in March. March offers us three incredible events for our spiritual renewal. I urge one and all to attend all three... in honor of the Trinity!

1) The 4th of March, at 5 PM (rain or shine)! As a parish family, we will gather together on Wednesday afternoon... every child... every teen... every adult, and we will witness our Archbishop bless and break the ground for the new church. Please change your plans and make plans to be at the parish on the 4th of March. As a family, we will march forth on March 4th!

2) On Thursday evening, the 12th of March, at 7 PM, we will have an extraordinary opportunity for our Lenten prayer. A priest of the Archdiocese, Fr. Joseph Morris, will offer his one-man show, Mark's Gospel LIVE. Fr. Morris will tell the story of the Lord Jesus as found in the Gospel of Mark, the earliest gospel to be handed down in written form. Please mark your calendars for this great Lenten gift to SJN. Come and join me as we witness the greatest story ever told. Bring your children and teens. Bring a friend. See more about this one-man show at www.gospelofmark.us.

3) The parish family will gather together on Monday evening, the 23rd of March, at 7 PM. On that Monday evening, we will hold our Lenten Penance Service. We will have lots of priests from our Deanery with us, to assist us in celebrating the Lord's mercy, as we confess the sin that distorts and diminishes our lives, and receive the blessing and power of the Lord's mercy. Don't fail to take advantage of this blessing. Come and see the goodness of the Lord! Join me on the 23rd as we are honest with ourselves and with the Lord: broken by sin, redeemed by love!

Please remember that I will be reading about our brother St. Paul with those that might want to join me. We begin on the 10th of March. Please find more details in the bulletin or on our web-site (www.sjnlilburn.com).

Lectors

lector-50.gif

Lectors are ministers of the Word. When the scriptures are read at Mass, God speaks through us and calls us to respond in faith and love. The Ministry of the Word is vital to the life of the Church, since we are proclaiming the living word of God! It continues to be alive as we bring the good news with our own deep faith and confident voice! Come join us in this wonderful ministry and become a Lector. Watch for future announcements for training workshops. If interested, please contact Mike Rybak (770) 979-7493.
