Catechist Appreciation Week October 21-28

This week at SJN!  We take time during this week to thank all our PSR catechists with special gifts and a small reception during classes.  We have wonderful teachers in the Parish School of Religion.  If you get a chance this week, please let them know how much they are appreciated.

People’s Choice 2007/2008
Catechists of the Year!

Congratulations to those who have been named by parents and staff as among “the best” in the St. John Neumann Parish School of Religion!

Kay Beaudoin  †  Betty Edwards  †  Esperanza Posada

Chris Rowe   †  Doreen Towhey

These catechists have gone above and beyond the call to help students in class each week and also pre- pare the 270 children in our sacramental program with their preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion.  They generously give of their time, talents and treasure and are angels to many as they lovingly help our families grow in faith!  Their dependable and tireless work extended freely to so many children has not gone unnoticed and we want them to know how much they are appreciated. Working with each of them is an honor and pleasure.  We thank them so much for giving to the Lord.

Ministry Spotlight

Usher Ministry

Are you being called to serve the Parish and feel you just don’t have the time or a talent to share?  I once thought that way myself.  Ushering may be the ministry for you. It’s a great way to serve the SJN community and meet more parishioners.  The role of an ushers is to greet our fellow parishioners with a warm hello, help them find seating if needed, assist in the offertory collections, and send them off with a bulletin and smile.  This is a ministry for both men and women.  If you are over 16 years old, you would be a welcome addition.

Please contact Jim Curtiss at jpcurt3333@yahoo.com or call 404-277-2044 if you are interested. There is no better way to show your love of God than to serve others!
